Print Spooler [Windows]

Berawal dari SMS seorang teman saya, akhirnya saya memutuskan untuk menulis artikel ini. SMS dari teman saya tersebut berisi kurang lebih ketika dia ingin menginstall driver dari printer yang baru dia beli, dia menemukan pesan error yang pada intinya terdapat pesan "Print Spooler is not running".

Melihat kata print spooler, saya merasa kata ini tidak asing, karena kalau tidak salah ada di salah satu pilihan services.msc yang bisa Anda buka melalui Run.

Sebelumnya apa itu print spooler ? Print spooler adalah suatu service di windows yang berfungsi untuk memuat file atau dokumen ke memory untuk dicetak. Jika service ini tidak dalam kondisi aktif, maka proses mencetak tidak dapat dilaksanakan, termasuk menginstall printer driver.

Nah, services print spooler ini biasanya dinon-aktifkan jika Anda sering bermain-main dengan software semacam Tune Up Utilities atau semacamnya, di mana Anda memilih pilihan tidak mempunyai printer, sedang tidak memakai printer dsb. Atau jika Anda memang ahli IT dan sering mengutak-atik komputer Anda :), tapi kalau ahli IT sepertinya tidak mungkin lupa dengan hal seperti ini xD.

Cara mengaktifkan kembali print spooler adalah sebagai berikut :

1. Mengakses services.msc terlebih dahulu. Ada beberapa cara sebagai berikut :

2. Cari "Print Spooler", kemudian klik 2x.

3. Ubah Startup type ke "Automatic".

4. Klik tombol "Start" pada Service status.

5. Terakhir, klik "Apply" dan "OK".
